JUNE 5, 2017 (LAS VEGAS, Nev.) – After a nearly five-year renovation project, The Point at Poipu, a Diamond Resorts International® property, is ready to reveal its new intricate design, upgrades and enhancements that will greet vacationers in Kauai, Hawaii with a true Aloha Spirit.

Perched perfectly overlooking the polished sands of Shipwreck Beach, The Point at Poipu offers 219 spacious, fully equipped accommodations ideal for families or a romantic retreat on 22 acres, just steps from the sapphire water. A colorful custom underwater scenic chandelier lights the lobby, and structural enhancements, fresh coats of exterior paint and new windows give vacationers breathtaking beach views. Diamond Resorts International Receives 2017 Social Media Campaign Award from American Resort Development Association

Global hospitality leader wins award for executing the premier social media campaign in the industry

APRIL 7, 2017 (LAS VEGAS, Nev.) – Diamond Resorts International®, a global leader in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries, received the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) Social Media Campaign Award for its Vacations for Life® Summer Family Fun Photo Contest at the ARDA World 2017 Convention and Expo in New Orleans, LA on March 26-30, 2017.

The Vacations for Life Summer Family Fun Photo Contest ran from June 2016 to August 2016 in conjunction with the company’s annual summer activity program at resorts worldwide. To enter the photo competition, members, owners and guests were required to upload a photo of themselves or their family to Facebook. The photo had to be taken while on vacation and participating in the summer activity program at the resort. Once posted live, photos were eligible to receive votes from the general public. At the contest conclusion, the photo with the most votes was awarded a 7-night stay at any Diamond Resorts destination in the world.

Diamond Resorts’ Daytona Beach Regency Makes Its Comeback in Time for Summer Vacation

After recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, Daytona Beach Regency by Diamond Resorts International® once again welcomes vacationers with new amenities and refurbished accommodations

APRIL 5, 2017 (LAS VEGAS, Nev.) – Just in time for the fast-approaching summer season, Daytona Beach Regency, a Diamond Resorts International® property, announces its grand re-opening and reveals its newest enhancements, upgrades and refurbishments that will make it the vacation hotspot of choice in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Diamond Resorts Announces Senior Management Promotions

Michael Flaskey Named CEO and Ken Siegel Named President and CAO

MARCH 3, 2017 (LAS VEGAS, Nev.) – Diamond Resorts International® (“Diamond Resorts”), a global leader in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries, today announced the promotions of Michael Flaskey and Ken Siegel, as well as the retirement of Matthew Avril due to family and personal reasons. Avril will continue as an advisor to Apollo and the Company’s management during his retirement.

Diamond Resorts’ current Chief Operating Officer, Michael Flaskey, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, while current General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer, Ken Siegel, has been named President.

Diamond Resorts Chairman of the Board, David Sambur commented, “I wish to thank Matt for the significant contributions he made during his tenure as CEO and I wish him and his family well. Matt was integral in the recent rollout of industry-leading initiatives that have improved the customer experience for our members. Michael Flaskey, Chief Executive Officer

Mike Flaskey has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in publicly and privately-held companies, with a key focus on growth-oriented companies within the vacation ownership industry. He previously held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Diamond Resorts from 2014 to 2016, and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, North America for Diamond Resorts from 2010 to 2014. Throughout Mr. Flaskey’s tenure at Diamond Resorts, the Company has achieved unprecedented growth both organically and through strategic acquisitions, as Diamond Resorts has shifted the traditional timeshare marketing and sales model to a hospitality-infused process that includes a high-touch upstream engagement stance, providing guests with a service-first approach to marketing and sales.

Prior to Diamond Resorts, Mr. Flaskey held key senior executive roles with Starwood Vacation Ownership and Fairfield Resorts (now Wyndham Vacation Ownership). He has a track record of recruiting and developing top talent and is a culture-conscious, performance-driven executive with a history of excellent results, while always placing guest satisfaction first.

Ken Siegel, President and Chief Administrative Officer

Kenneth Siegel has over 20 years of experience as a senior leader of major corporations. Prior to Diamond, he was Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. As a key member of the Starwood leadership team, Mr. Siegel was intimately involved in Starwood’s emergence as an industry leader prior to its acquisition by Marriott International in 2016. In addition to his legal and administrative responsibilities, he played a pivotal role in Starwood’s transition to an asset-light business and was the architect of transactions that drove both top- and bottom-line benefits through industry-leading initiatives.

Prior to joining Starwood, Mr. Siegel spent four years as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Cognizant Corporation and its successor companies. Cognizant, a multinational information services company, was originally comprised of IMS Health Inc., Nielsen Media Research and The Gartner Group.

Diamond Resorts Invitational Raises $570,000 for Florida Hospital for Children

MARCH 1, 2017 (ORLANDO, Fla.) – As a result of funds raised at the recent Diamond Resorts Invitational™, Diamond Resorts International® presented a check for $570,000 to Florida Hospital for Children. The proceeds were raised during the annual event’s silent and live auctions at Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club in Celebration, Florida from January 12-15, 2017. The tournament-related events have now raised more than $2.3 million for Florida Hospital for Children over the past four years.

Florida Hospital for Children is one of the premier children’s hospitals in the nation, setting standards for innovation, quality and comprehensive care. The child-centric healing environment designed to keep kids comfortable is complemented by a staff of world-class doctors, specialists, nurses and healthcare professionals utilizing advanced technologies, therapies and treatments. Diamond Resorts International Delivers Momentous Vacation Experience as Legendary Race Car Driver Michael Waltrip Drives His Last Laps at Daytona

Diamond Resorts Ambassador and two-time winner of the Daytona 500, Michael Waltrip, hosts exclusive Events of a Lifetime® experience for his final race at Daytona

FEB. 23, 2017 (LAS VEGAS, Nev.) – Diamond Resorts International®, a global leader in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries, together with legendary race car driver, Michael Waltrip, delivers an Events of a Lifetime® experience for its members at the 59th Daytona 500 on February 26, 2017.

As a part of the event, members will have the opportunity to take an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the world-famous motorsports stadium, hosted by Michael Waltrip. Immediately following the tour, members will enjoy premium stadium seating to watch Michael Waltrip’s historic last race.

After a prosperous racing career spanning more than 30 years, Waltrip will retire from the sport. The two-time winner of the prestigious Daytona 500, having won in 2001 and 2003, posted more than 130 top 10 finishes on NASCAR’s premier Sprint Cup series, including four career race wins. He scored 11 wins and more than 105 top 10 finishes in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series and even has a win in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series division.

Country Music Star Cole Swindell Signs on as Diamond Resorts New Brand Ambassador

Arrangement with Platinum-selling singer/songwriter Cole Swindell introduces new and exciting live acoustic performances to the 2017 Diamond Resorts Concert Series schedule and delivers unforgettable vacation experiences for members through Events of a Lifetime®

FEB. 22, 2017 (LAS VEGAS, Nev.) – Diamond Resorts International®, a global leader in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries, announces a new alliance and sponsorship arrangement with multi-award-winning, and six-time No. 1 country music artist, Cole Swindell.

Prior to joining the Diamond Resorts ambassador team, Swindell recently participated in the Diamond Resorts Invitational benefiting Florida Hospital for Children, a nationally televised PGA Tour Champions/Celebrity event that took place in Orlando, Florida from January 13-15, 2017. As a part of the family-friendly hospitality experience, Diamond Resorts hosted nightly events with celebrity chefs and private concerts. Swindell performed a live acoustic performance for the tournament attendees on January 12 at Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club.

The Down Home Tour coincided with the release of his third EP, Down Home Sessions III. Swindell is currently on tour with Dierks Bentley’s What The Hell World Tour. To date, Swindell has sold over 1.7 million total album equivalents in the three years since his debut, including 5.4 million+ tracks sold and over 520 million on-demand streams.

In an exciting season-opener, the LPGA star triumphs in seventh career win and surges forward in the world rankings

Her seventh LPGA championship comes only three weeks after her participation in the Diamond Resorts Invitational in Orlando, Florida. The Diamond Resorts Invitational is a new PGA TOUR Champions Challenge Season event that uniquely includes both celebrities and an array of LPGA standouts, including Lincicome and Lexi Thompson, who also performed admirably in the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic, losing to Lincicome in a playoff. In the Jan. 13-15 Diamond Resorts Invitational, Lincicome finished 22nd and Thompson 8th among a large group of PGA TOUR Champions players, including winner Woody Austin. All three days of the Diamond Resorts Invitational were televised live on Golf Channel.

“I 100 per cent think, and I’m sure Lexi (Thompson) will tell you the same, that to be able to play in a competitive round, especially against top male pros, prior to the first LPGA event is just great preparation,” said Lincicome. “It was an awesome way to get ready. On the first day at the Diamond Resorts Invitational, I was paired with John Cook. Then on Sunday, it was John Daly and (country music singer) Jake Owen.”

“I’m super-competitive and I guess I want to prove myself against the boys, so playing against the men definitely helps me focus and it was great to be able to do that before coming to the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic,” continued Lincicome.

Lincicome began her professional career in 2004 at the age of 19, and won for the first time in 2006 at the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship. She followed up that win again in 2007 at the Ginn Open and became a major champion in 2009 winning the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Brittany entered rarified air by winning the ANA Inspiration. As a now seven-time champion, and one of the longest hitters on tour, Brittany attracts quite a bit of well-deserved attention.

2017 Diamond Resorts Invitational Raises $585,000 For Florida Hospital For Children

Golf’s Most Unique Tournament Format Delivers Across the Board

JAN. 26, 2017 (ORLANDO, Fla.) – While Woody Austin and Mark Mulder raised the trophies as the professional and celebrity victors at the recent Diamond Resorts Invitational™, the biggest winner was the tournament’s main beneficiary, Florida Hospital for Children, receiving $585,000 in contributions. The accompanying live and silent auctions have now raised more than $2.3 million for Florida Hospital for Children the past four years.

Florida Hospital for Children is one of the premier children’s hospitals in the nation, setting standards for innovation, quality and comprehensive care. The child-centric healing environment designed to keep kids comfortable is complemented by a staff of world-class doctors, specialists, nurses and healthcare professionals utilizing advanced technologies, therapies and treatments. Florida Hospital for Children’s team of over 135 highly skilled pediatric specialists delivers extraordinary care across more than 35 pediatric subspecialties, including a children’s emergency department; the Level IV Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Center; a world-renowned pediatric heart center; a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU); and the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Central Florida’s first and only pediatric bone marrow transplant program affiliated with Duke Health. The Diamond Resorts Invitational was televised live on Golf Channel from Friday, Jan. 13 through Sunday, Jan. 15, and featured a groundbreaking format with 27 PGA TOUR Champions, four LPGA stars and 48 sports and entertainment celebrities. The historic event marked the first time multiple LPGA players have competed individually against the PGA Tour Champions in a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event. Players competed from the same tees over 54 holes in a Modified Stableford scoring format for separate purses in professional and celebrity categories of $750,000 and $500,000, respectively.

The popularity of the singular format with golf fans was obvious with attendance at Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort in Orlando, and weekend long television ratings, exceeding all expectations.

Along with winner Woody Austin, who opened the tournament shooting 59 – one of eight players in history to record that score during a tournament, were PGA TOUR Champions John Daly, Colin Montgomerie, Ian Woosnam, Kenny Perry, Mark Calcavecchia, John Cook, Lee Janzen, Scott Hoch, Jeff Sluman, Tommy Armour III, Gil Morgan and Billy Mayfair among the age 50+ professionals. LPGA Tour players included Lexi Thompson, Brittany Lincicome, Brittany Lang and Brooke Henderson.

The celebrity field was led by Marcus Allen, Roger Clemens, Josh Donaldson, Chicago Cubs World Champion pitchers Jon Lester and John Lackey, Colt Ford, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, Brian McCann, Kevin Millar, Mike Modano, Mark Mulder, Blair O’Neal, Jake Owen, Chad Pfeifer, Alfonso Ribeiro, Jeremy Roenick, Mark Rypien, John Smoltz, Cole Swindell, Brian Urlacher, Justin Verlander, Larry the Cable Guy and 2016 celebrity champion Mardy Fish. Active National Football League stars included Arizona Cardinals All-Pros Larry Fitzgerald and Patrick Peterson, as well as the Jacksonville Jaguars Bryan Walters.

The Diamond Resorts Invitational was the final PGA TOUR Champions sanctioned “Challenge Season” event before the Tour’s Regular Season opening event in Hawaii.
